Our expertise extends across a broad geographical region, encompassing the picturesque landscapes of Shropshire, the vibrant communities of Cheshire, and the stunning natural beauty of Mid and North Wales. We are dedicated to bringing our unique approach to sustainable gardening to clients throughout these diverse areas.
Our Philosophy
Our core philosophy revolves around the meticulous design, expert construction, and conscientious maintenance of gardens that are inherently low-input and low-maintenance.
We are passionate about cultivating aesthetically captivating environments that offer sustained seasonal interest, evolving gracefully throughout the year.
Beyond mere visual appeal, our primary objective is to actively foster a diverse & thriving array of plant & animal life.
We believe that a garden should be a living, breathing ecosystem, contributing positively to the local environment and offering a tangible connection to the natural world.
This ethos guides every decision we make, from the initial site assessment to the selection of plant species and the implementation of sustainable maintenance practices…continue
Our Story
Established in December 2009, following a nearly decade-long tenure in the Royal Navy, Stuart Francis Professional Gardener initially adhered to conventional gardening methodologies.
However, a profound shift occurred with the growing recognition of the inherent limitations of these traditional practices. It became clear that such methods were often outdated, excessively resource-intensive, and yielded only fleeting benefits for ecological diversity.
Driven by a commitment to innovation and sustainability, Stuart embarked on an intensive period of research and development. This dedicated initiative led to the formulation of a groundbreaking new philosophy, drawing significant inspiration from the pioneering work of esteemed experts in ecological horticulture, including John Little, celebrated for his naturalistic planting schemes; Peter Korn, known for his revolutionary approach to gravel gardens; Nigel Dunnett, a leading figure in designed ecosystems; and James Hitchmough, whose expertise lies in ecological planting design.
Today, Stuart Francis Professional Gardener stands at the forefront of a new era in garden creation. The company specializes exclusively in the design, development, and long-term stewardship of gardens with a dedicated and unwavering focus on enhancing and sustaining biodiversity. Our approach is rooted in the understanding that a truly beautiful garden is one that flourishes in harmony with nature, providing a vibrant sanctuary for both people and wildlife.
